Varlink, the York based specialist distributor of mobile computing and data capture products, has added the Psion VH10/VH10f rugged vehicle mount computer to its product portfolio.

The VH10/VH10f has undergone stringent Psion and Motorola test procedures to bring its customers a durable, hardworking and reliable device. The device runs on Windows CE 6.0 with OMAP3 ARM 800MHz processor and has 512MB RAM as well as 1GB Flash memory that provides advanced power management, enabling workers to increase efficiency and productivity. Its 8", 5-wire resistive touchscreen with 640 nits and LED backlight offers an ultra-bright display, improving visibility in all lighting conditions, and its exterior can be customised with a replaceable keyboard that has either a QWERTY or AZERTY keyboard available.  Boasting a rugged exterior and with an IP rating of 66, the VH10 enables workers to operate without interruption in the toughest environments.

The devices also have superior wireless integration with the latest WiFi technology with WLAN IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n, Bluetooth V2 +EDR and an internal or external 2.4 and 5GHz antenna, giving workers access to real-time information and supporting an efficient working environment.

The VH10f, a variant of the VH10 that is designed for freezer warehouses, hosts an enhanced and unique freezer temperature resistance technology that enables continuous operation in freezer environments. Its components support a wide temperature range and it has heated boards that prevent interior condensation, as well as a touchscreen heater and defroster to ensure screen visibility to minimise condensation and ice in freezer conditions. Its temperature sensors identify condensing circumstances and to ensure it still works with general icing, an elastomeric keyboard has been designed for it. Drainage holes have been added to prevent ice build-up on the keyboard.

Much like the other Psion devices, the VH10 has field replaceable modules to help reduce downtime and total cost of ownership.
This device is ideal for warehousing, manufacturing, ports and yards, air and rail transport and the cold chain industry.
