Retail Business Technology Expo puts innovation in the spotlight

Visitors to Retail Business Technology Expo (RBTE) 2013, Europe's biggest and fastest growing retail show should be prepared for an innovation overload with the launch of The Innovations Theatre, sponsored by The Cloud, a new initiative for 2013 launched in response to requests from retailers.

Nick Field, Event Director, Retail Business Technology Expo, "We can't wait to see the innovations that will be on display at the show, and we know our visitors feel the same – it's a key reason for visiting the show.  We launched The Innovations Theatre as lots of our visitors said they wanted to be able to see and find out about the most cutting edge products at the show in a dedicated area.  We were overwhelmed by the quantity and high standard of the entries that we received, and our judges had their work cut out selecting the final candidates!"

The Innovations Theatre will feature seven companies each day, all stepping up to the challenge of showcasing their solutions and demonstrating why they won a slot in The Innovations Theatre in 30 minute sessions.

On the first day of RBTE (March 12) visitors will be able to see IER, who will be showing off Expedited Self Payment (ESP), a self-checkout solution based on RFID reading that enables customers to check out in a much expedited manner compared to traditional SCO, followed by Tinderstone with its 3d photo capture and mobile applications, where 3D photo capture technology is used to create accurate and detailed 3D digital models from any real world object, quickly and cost-effectively.  Axida will be presenting its HDi home delivery software which enables retailers, delivery companies and manufacturers to improve both customer service levels and bottom line, followed by CloudTags. CloudTags have developed a bespoke in-store tablet experience using NFC that allows the bespoke nature of the web to continue seamlessly for customers with store staff and products in the store.

Cognitec Systems are up next, with FaceVACS-VideoScan, which employs anonymous face recognition technology to analyse the count, flow, demographics and behaviour of people visible in video streams while protecting privacy and data security.  The Evolution Group will be showcasing Retail Mesh, a unique and secure mobile technology that applies the sophisticated analytics of ecommerce to bricks and mortar businesses.  The day will be rounded off by JustEnough Software, with its Promotion Management with Social and Mobile Publishing, created especially for retailers to allow them to target their customers across all channels like never before.

Day two (March 13th) starts with Business Insight 3, and its Insight Management Reports, an open platform, graphical reporting system with one very important difference - these bespoke reports are intelligently linked to the relevant video footage, allowing the retailer to see beyond the data.  PayPal will be showing new ways to shop using just your mobile.  Airwatch's Enterprise Mobile Management Solution will show how mobile working can be enabled whilst ensuring sensitive information is secure, followed by SciVisum who will be showing how its Intelligent Inventory Management Suite puts eCommerce at the focus of management.

Sigma Touch will show how the i700 EPoS terminal changes the way customers interact with the point of sale and extends the role of the EPoS terminal into a promotional device, marketing and loyalty tool, info-kiosk and entertainment provider, followed by RapidBlue Solutions, who will demonstrate RapidBlue's Retail Analytics on Mobile, which provides retailers with the next generation of offline retail analytics, completely hardware free.  Finally, YesPay will show how EasyV-Mobile works as a  portable card payments solution both capable of performing standalone card payments as well as allowing Smartphone POS (mobile shops) Apps to integrate card payments.
