BlueStar, the global distributor of ADC, Mobility, Point-of-Sale, RFID, Digital Signage, and Security technology solutions, is now carrying the new Yuma 2 rugged tablet computer from Trimble Mobile Computing Solutions.

This new rugged tablet is designed to meet professional needs in the field, and can be used by workers outdoors, even in bright sunlight. The Trimble Yuma 2 features 3.75G dual-mode cellular data for productivity anywhere GSM and CDMA cellular networks are available, and meets military standards for drops, vibration, humidity, as well as IP ratings for protection against dust and water.

"Field equipment must provide efficiency and productivity as well as mobility. Trimble has a history of providing this with the Yuma, our original rugged tablet computer, now completely updated in the new Yuma 2," said Trimble MCS General Manager Jim Sheldon. "A person's tools need to be as tough as the job they have to do, and the environment they have to work in. The Trimble Yuma 2 is designed for professionals doing critical work requiring reliable tools, no matter where they are or how harsh the conditions."

"Field professionals need solutions that perform under harsh conditions," said BlueStar Trimble Business Development Manager, Bethany Winders. "The Yuma 2 is not only one of the most rugged tablets on the market, but it also offers a large 7" capacitive touch screen that's easy to hold and super-light at only 2.6 pounds."

The Yuma 2 from Trimble is fully-functional field computer complete with Microsoft Windows 7 Professional operating system, 1.6 Ghz Intel Atom dual-core processor, 4GB of DDR3 DRAM and a 64 GB solid state drive to maximize productivity and efficiency wherever workers may go. The included 5 mega-pixel camera provides video and photo capture with geotagging and GPS for accurate data collection in fleet logistics, work order management, distributed asset management and more.

"There are so many user-friendly options with the Yuma 2's multi-touch capacitive touchscreen," continued Winders. "Users can type with their fingers, use a stylus or capacitive gloves, and control the size of the keyboard on the display. You can use it in landscape or portrait mode, and even zoom in on key information to optimize the overall user experience."

Four different configurations are now available to meet any rugged enterprise need and budget, including additional storage, an optional extended battery set and various color configurations. BlueStar is now taking orders for the new Trimble Yuma 2 rugged tablet computer, which will be available for shipping later this fall.
