David Claar joins Datamax-O'Neil as VP Engineering

Datamax-O'Neil, the global provider of industrial grade label and receipt printing solutions, has named David Claar as the vice president of engineering. His primary responsibilities include providing corporate technical direction and strategic insight for stationary and portable printing solutions while directing global development resources. Mr. Claar will lead Datamax-O'Neil's New Product Development, Current Product Development, Common Executable Environment and Regulatory Compliance teams.



Prior to joining Datamax-O'Neil, Mr. Claar served as vice president of engineering at Memjet Home and Office, Inc., a global leader in color printer technologies. He also served in several senior engineering management positions at Hewlett Packard, with a primary focus in the R&D and manufacturing areas. While at Hewlett Packard, David developed strategic relationships with Canon, Jetfax, Motorola, Nokia, and others to explore technology innovations and partnership opportunities.

With BS and MS degrees in Mechanical Engineering as well as an MBA, he comes to Datamax-O'Neil with 20 years of printer design and leadership experience. Mr. Claar will be based at Datamax-O'Neil's global headquarters in Orlando, Florida.
