Handheld Group appoints Johan Hed as new Product Manager

The Handheld Group, the manufacturer of rugged PDAs and mobile devices, has appointed Johan Hed as new product manager. The recruitment is part of Handheld's increased focus on new product development.


 
In his position as product manager, Hed will be responsible for the product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements and defining the product vision. The role also includes ensuring that the Handheld's product line-up support s the company's overall strategy and goals.
 
Hed has been with Handheld since January 2011 and is a graduate of Handheld's successful management trainee program, which has filled several managerial positions within the Handheld Group. At Handheld, he has managed business development focused in the US as well as the APAC region. Johan has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Lamar University, Texas, USA, and a Master of Science in International Business and Trade from the University of Gothenburg (Sweden).
 
Johan Hed starts his new position as product manager immediately, and will be based at Handheld's global headquarters in Lidkping in southwestern Sweden.

Handheld's line-up of rugged PDAs and mobile computers is specifically developed for use in tough environments in industries such as  geomatics, logistics, forestry, public transportation, construction, mining,  field service, utilities, maintenance, public safety, military, and security.
 
The need for mobility is increasing in today's working environment, especially outside the traditional office environment, creating a growing demand for Handheld's products. Increasing availability and affordability of wireless broadband is driving market growth of rugged mobile computers and handheld devices. Handheld is the fastest growing manufacturer of rugged mobile computers in the world, a market that is growing at 8.6% per year.
