Alfresco, the open platform for social content management, has announced expansion of its worldwide team of channel managers and channel-focused sales and marketing executives. This strategic channel expansion is aimed at recruitment of new partners, delivering resources and tools for channel partners and new lead generation and joint marketing activities to help the partner network respond to the increased global demand for the Alfresco platform.

Alfresco is now the largest open source content management company in the world, with almost 2,500 customers in 55 countries.  Since its launch in 2005, almost 70% of Alfresco's global orders have been enabled by SI, OEM & reseller partners.  These partners have generated close to $1 billion dollars in customisation, development and integration services on top of the Alfresco platform.  In 2011 alone, Alfresco has added 45 new partners worldwide and channel revenue growth is on pace to exceed 40%.
Today, Alfresco is more than doubling its internal channel support team with coverage in new regions across the globe, including:

Americas
Jerome Agnola, Channel & Alliances Director, Americas
Jason Mendonca, Channel Sales Manager, North America (Northeast & Federal)
Jason Price, Channel Sales Manager, North America (Central & Southeast)
Jeff Crawford, Channel Sales Manager, North America (West
Raul Gonzales, Latin America Channel Sales Manager

EMEA & APAC
Jean-Michel Birck, Channel & Alliances Director, EMEA & APAC
Stefano D'Orazio, Channel Manager, Italy
Christer Eriksson, Channel Manager, Nordics & The Netherlands
Stefan Rechs, Channel Manager, DACH

Current and prospective partners will now benefit from the support of a devoted team of new channel managers and directors, including the marketing and support teams required to make partners successful. The primary responsibility of the team will include better enabling partners to take full advantage of the shared expertise, skills and knowledge of Alfresco's worldwide partner community.

"We are very proud of the new partnerships we have developed in 2011 and are investing further with our program expansion," said John Powell, CEO of Alfresco. "We are expanding our growth opportunities by strengthening our internal channel resources and extending our partner reach globally. The opportunity to build custom solutions and integrations on top of a powerful open source platform is very compelling in today's economy, and this expansion will give current and prospective partners the resources and confidence they need to deliver."

In addition to this announcement, Alfresco is developing a set of new partner enablement tools and assets to help partners grow their business using Alfresco. This includes a new partner portal for Alfresco's worldwide community of system integrators, software vendor partners, infrastructure providers and resellers. In addition, the portal will house new co-branded campaign materials, lead generation activities, webinars, seminars and press releases all meant to provide partners with a full suite of marketing support and a reliable, future-proof solution to leverage the full extensibility of Alfresco's platform.

"We needed a partner that could support our strategic vision, help us grow, and provide support along the way," said Malcolm Teasdale, CEO Rothbury Software. "That's what we've found with Alfresco. We were one of Alfresco's first partners when we started in 2007.  Today we're known in the industry as content management subject matter experts. This is in no small part to our Platinum partnership with Alfresco."

"In 2006, partnering with the newcomer Alfresco seemed to be quite a risk. Five years later we think that it was one of the best strategic decisions we ever made, leading to strong and sustainable growth, a lot of exciting, long-term customer relationships and the buildup of cutting-edge skills and know-how," said Dr. Michael Schfer, CEO of Westernacher Products & Services AG.  "The partnership with Alfresco initiated a remarkable shift towards a "2.0 mindset" inside our company. Open source really makes a difference!"
