Ingram Micro EMEA, a division of Ingram Micro Inc., the global wholesale provider of technology products and supply chain management services, has announced that its Straubing Regional Distribution Centre has received the 'TAPA (A)' certificate.

The international security association TAPA (Transported Asset Protection Association) has awarded the certificate recognising the high security standards applied in the handling and shipping of all products by Ingram Micro in its German Regional Distribution Centre. Meeting the comprehensive TAPA security standard was demonstrated during a special independent two day on-site audit.

The international security association TAPA is a consortium of international manufacturers, logistics providers, carriers, law enforcement authorities and other stakeholders with the common goal to reduce losses in the international supply chain. Today this organization has more than 600 members in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, America and Asia. The security requirements of this Association have been approved worldwide as the industry standard for cargo operations and transportation security.

Herbert Hufsky, executive director logistics Ingram Micro EMEA, is pleased with the certification: "This TAPA (A) certification underpins that Ingram Micro is fully focused on providing best-in-class operations, both from a performance and a security perspective. Being TAPA (A) certified is another asset to Ingram Micro when providing services to our Distribution and Ingram Micro Logistics customers and vendor partners. The Straubing Regional Distribution Center is Ingram Micro EMEA second facility being certified TAPA (A) following The Tilburg Distribution center earlier this year.  This is an important step in the roll out of our Operations strategy."

Gerhard Hering, senior manager security & insurance DACHH,  added "This certificate is a testimonial of our high level of security standards maintained every day by our employees and our state-of-the-art security systems to protect our goods and control our warehouse operations."
