Ergonomic Solutions provides your first line of defence with SpacePole ClickSafe

Ergonomic Solutions, the designer and supplier of mounting and security solutions within the retail sector, has announced in partnership with Kensington Computer Products, the launch of its SpacePole ClickSafe security lock for payment terminals, mobile devices and POS hardware.

The increasing use of customer facing technology in the retail environment through devices such as Chip & PIN terminals, iPads, and a host of other portable devices may have brought about a new shopping experience for the consumer, but these high value devices are subject to theft and even more critically, fraud. A sobering survey - Terminal manipulation at PoS - published by Master Card pointed out that it only takes 30 seconds for a card device to be removed and replaced with a similar one fitted with electronic skimmers.

The sight of a physically tethered device will also prevent opportunistic crime whether that be external or staff related. More and more retail organisations are equipping their sales teams with mobile devices and the ability to tether these at the end of a shift or when not in use is an excellent way to protect your capital investment.

With SpacePole ClickSafe, Ergonomic Solutions bring you a physical defence against an increasingly sophisticated criminal threat. Specifically engineered to withstand the rigors of a potentially hostile environment and protect your payment terminals and hardware from abuse and theft, its superior strength and ease-of-use makes your first line of defence even stronger without any reduction in access or flexibility.

ClickSafe features unique SpacePole integration and the keyless installation only requires you to click the lock in place. Two types of solution are available. The ClickSafe dual lock is designed specifically for our SpacePole mounting solutions. To install the solution you simply click the two locks onto the installed anchors on the SpacePole and the hardware. A high carbon 7x7 curly steel cable, designed to combat cutting attacks, connects the two lock heads which feature a patented Kensington Computer Products design. The lock heads pivot through 180 and allow for 360 rotation around the cable providing exceptional flexibility and convenience for employees and customers.

The single lock straight cable option is designed to secure terminals and hardware to a counter or wall using the anchor point. Having fixed the anchor point to the chosen surface, the carbon tempered 7x7 steel straight cable is simply looped through the anchor point and clicked onto the hardware anchor installed on the hardware. ClickSafe lock heads' die cast metal housing resists attacks and protects the advanced locking mechanism.

Speaking of the introduction of the SpacePole ClickSafe security lock solution, Mark Crysell, Director of Product Marketing, said, "Customer facing technology provides huge benefits for consumers and retail organisations alike. However, the increased risk of theft of high value items such as the iPad and other mobile devices along with the potentially devastating effects of fraud from a terminal that has been skimmed mean that physical security is as important in terms of investment protection as the longevity and functionality of the systems themselves. ClickSafe brings that peace of mind to retailers and consumers alike. Protecting that investment and your reputation has never been easier."
