Ingram Micro (UK), a division of Ingram Micro Inc., the global wholesaler of technology products and supply chain management services, has announced a monthly sales record, a distribution first, and an important milestone reached for the HP Utility Storage family 3Par, crowning a period of investment in resource and training.

The next generation of Tier 1 storage, HP 3PAR Utility Storage was built from the ground up to exceed the economic and operational requirements of even the most demanding and dynamic IT environments, enabling virtual data centre capabilities around cloud computing., and incorporates unique autonomic management and storage tiering features.

Ingram Micro became the first UK distributor to transact more than 1m of HP 3Par products in one month, the result of significant investment in its HP presales and technical team earlier in the year, and the more recent development and expansion of its Professional Services offering.

Outlining the build up to this achievement, Jon Bunyard, Director of HP Enterprise Servers, Storage and Networking: "In June we said that 3Par was a fantastic technology to be working with, and we predicted strong sales on the back of our investment into training and recruitment."

Through continued focus from the dedicated Business Development team, highly trained presales consultants and a highly accredited services team, Ingram Micro believe that the level of opportunities will continue to grow as Bunyard explains: "We have an incredibly strong sales pipeline on the 3Par products going forward, so we expect to reach the next milestone before year end. We are also seeing incremental opportunities and year on year growth across the HP Enterprise product portolio, especially on the networking side, driven by our overall Enterprise products growth."
