Ingram Micro (UK), a division of Ingram Micro Inc., has agreed to distribute the new S Series range of VAIO laptops from Sony, pursuing growth in the SMB channel with a product targeted at the mobile business user.
The slim, light VAIO S Series is available only in a 13.3" screen size, and features a stylish new 'full flat' design that's crafted in magnesium with a wide aluminium palmrest. Overall thickness shrinks to less than 24mm, while weight is a travel-friendly 1.75kg. Runtime is 7 hours in 'stamina' mode, extendable to 14 hours with an optional battery attachment.
Raj Pandya, General Manager, distribution and reseller channel, Sony UK commented, "We believe that the VAIO S series is a great laptop for our partners as it is a product that reflects the needs of today's mobile business user. We think this product will drive growth, particularly in the SMB market."
The Vaio S Series includes business-friendly features such as Fast Boot, allowing bootup 50% faster than a conventional notebook, and a WEB button that powers up the PC for Internet access in seconds, ideal for checking last-minute e-mails in a departure lounge. Backlit keyboard and ambient light sensors assist in mixed and low-light conditions and further enhance the premium appeal of the product.
Chris Connell, Head of PC Category at Ingram Micro, explains the market need for this product: "The VAIO S series is a premium product aimed squarely at mobile business users that are spending longer on the road and have all-day computing requirements without sacrificing office-based power needs. "
The Sony VAIO S Series of mobile PC products is available now from Ingram Micro.
