Printronix, the global industrial and business printing solutions provider, has been selected by pharmaceutical wholesaler and market leader Phoenix Pharma to provide high-performance printing solutions to support its industrial labelling requirements. With a product portfolio of more than 90,000 items from 660 vendors, Phoenix Pharma distributes hundreds of pallets of pharmaceutical products a day, all of which need to be clearly labeled to ensure smooth logistics and delivery of product.

To produce the thousands of labels needed for these pallets at its distribution centre, Phoenix has replaced its existing laser printers and deployed the Printronix P7220 line matrix printer range. Operating at a print speed of up to 2,000 lines per minute, the P7220 is quick, accurate and reliable. The integrated print management system allows for durable ribbon coils and longer print times, saving valuable time and money and maximising return on investment (ROI).

Andreas Schramm, director of technology services at Phoenix Pharma, commented: "The pharmaceutical wholesale market works within an extremely tight time frame, from the ordering of products, through to delivery and arrival of goods. The Printronix P7220 is able to provide the necessary print resolution, capacity and speed, offering a true replacement for the costly and less robust laser or inkjet printer. The line matrix printer from Printronix is clearly unique."

Holger Steer, sales director, Central and Eastern Europe, Printronix added: "We have always been committed to supporting customers' business drivers and reducing inefficiency and risk. As a market leader, Phoenix Pharma prides itself on swift, reliable service. Printronix is proud to be underpinning this business-critical function for an integral part of their operation."
