Ingram Micro EMEA has signed a European-wide agreement with BoxTone,  a global Mobile Service Management (MSM) software and services provider, headquartered in Maryland, US.

BoxTone's proactive Mobile Service Management suite is trusted by more than 300 of the world's leading enterprises and government agencies to continuously maintain optimal mobile performance and security at the lowest cost and risk.

Pierre-Yvon Mechali, Executive Director and General Manager, Telco Division, Ingram Micro EMEA, said, "BoxTone's software is a clear complement to our growing telecommunications product suite, and supports our strategy to develop a full eco-system around mobile devices. They are a leader in the industry with 1 in 3 Fortune companies already using their platform, and we believe this addition will bring new business opportunities to our customers across Europe."

As part of this agreement, Ingram Micro will sell BoxTone Essentials for BlackBerry -- part of the BoxTone MSM suite of plug and play software modules which automates core BlackBerry monitoring and management activities, proactively alerting IT to mobile service issues then helping them to find, fix and validate them in less than 3 minutes.

BoxTone Essentials for BlackBerry delivers
Real-Time dashboard for instant visibility into the health of end-to-end mobile service quality across users, BlackBerry Enterprise Servers (BES), mail servers and wireless carriers

SmartAlerts that warn of pending issues and risks, enabling proactive fixes before users call

User Console that automatically diagnoses user issues with 1-Click Fix-It and simple repair instructions

Scalable, secure systems management platform built from the ground-up with patented SmartMP technology to monitor, analyze and control all aspects of your diverse mobile environment

BoxTone Essentials for BlackBerry deploys fast via a web-based server approach that auto-discovers the end-to-end BlackBerry deployment and immediately begins monitoring all aspects of health and performance -- all so that IT can immediately achieve value within the first hour of install.

BoxTone clients consistently report hard-dollar benefits and a more trouble-free environment, including:

33% Lower Mobile Total Cost of Ownership

25% Higher Mobile Return on Investment

33% Higher Mobile Quality of Service

"Ingram Micro gives us reach into new markets as we expand globally," said Alan Snyder, CEO of BoxTone. "Their proven expertise in value-add solutions as well as their new partnership with Research In Motion, brings us tremendous opportunity to access IT resellers and system integrators quickly and easily."

Earlier this year, Ingram Micro EMEA launched a new telecommunications division, and under Mechali's leadership the company has established a team of telecommunications experts across Europe who are implementing tailored strategies in each country and receiving early positive recognition from the market. In November, Ingram Micro Netherlands was named the Best Telecom & Networking Distributor for 2010 at the CRN Channel Awards in Amsterdam. In early December the company announced it has become an official distributor of a full suite of BlackBerry smartphones, accessories, software and technical support services.

Through its telecommunications strategy, Ingram Micro EMEA will extend its logistics offerings with a tailored service offering designed to meet the resellers, retailers, Mobile Network Operators and Mobile Virtual Network Operators' expectations. In addition, Ingram Micro will augment its product line by significantly increasing its brand coverage in netbooks, smartphones and accessories across EMEA.
