Varlink adds Getac ultra-rugged handhelds to its lineup

York-based specialist mobile computing and data capture hardware distributor, Varlink, has expanded its product range by becoming a UK distributor for the ATEX-certified Getac ultra-rugged PS236 handheld Windows Mobile PDA and the fully rugged PS535F.

Getac's rugged PDAs are hardened to withstand harsh use in industrial and field environments. These devices tend to be used in dirty, dusty, wet, in-motion, vibrating, hot, cold, or generally hostile environments as they are able to withstand water, shock, vibration, extreme temperatures, emissions, EMI and RFI, and can survive in particle-laden environments. Varlink will be stocking both the PS236 and PS535F range of PDA devices.

The Getac PS236, which is the first fully rugged handheld built to meet MIL-STD 810G with high speed HSDPA wireless networking, is now also ATEX Certified.
 
The built-in GPS receiver, E-compass, altimeter and 3M pixels auto-focus camera have been neatly integrated to develop an all-in-one solution. Featuring with RS232 serial port and USB OTG, the PS236 provides high compatibility and flexible connectivity for various industrial applications.
 
The embedded 4GB memory storage plus an external SDHC card slot supporting up to 16GB ensure extensive data process and storage.  Two optional keyboard features, numeric keypad and PDA keypad, are designed to meet different user needs. The PS236 further offers substantially long battery life up to 10 hours to provide all-day power.
 
The fully rugged PS535F is the world's smallest rugged PDA for high performance in harsh environments. With a high sensitivity GPS receiver, E-Compass, altimeter and a 3M pixels auto-focus camera, the PS535F is perfect for GIS applications.
 
It is equipped with built-in WiFi, and Bluetooth to support boundless data transmission in real time. The PS535F further offers substantially long battery life up to 8 hours to relieve the common concern for power supply.
