Box Technologies launches TOSHIBA TEC printer series

Technology and service provider Box Technologies has signed a distribution agreement with TOSHIBA TEC for their entire range of Auto-ID products. Toshiba's portfolio includes portable, desktop and industrial products, designed for the widest variety of applications and markets. Under the agreement, Box Technologies will manage deployment of the Toshiba B-EP portable printer series throughout the UK, in addition to the service and repair of the products. The 2" B-EP2DL and the 4" B-EP4DL portable label printers extend Box Technologies' support of advanced mobile applications in retail, hospitality and warehousing environments.

Built on the success of the outstanding B-SP2D printer series, the B-EP2DL and the B-EP4DL are portable thermal printers with a contemporary and rugged design to meet the needs of today's demanding mobile applications. With heavy duty work in mind, the printers have passed drop tests at heights of up to 1.8 meters onto concrete. The B-EP portable printers meet all requirements for integration into legacy systems, protecting the investments of Box Technologies' customers.

The printers are powered by a 32-bit CPU and are equipped with a full range of interfaces and a backlit LCD screen and key interface. They are unique with their ability to not only have a perfect view, but equally to allow users and administrators to change the settings and configurations directly on the device.
The ever-increasing need for mobility and efficiency in the workplace requires smart networking capabilities. The B-EP2DL and B-EP4DL label printers are Microsoft Windows compatible and feature a full range of communication interfaces including RS-232 Serial, Infrared (IrDA), USB 2.0, wireless LAN and Bluetooth, making them ideal for portable EPoS and remote transaction processing applications. For added mobility and ease of use, an integrated belt clip or an optional carrying case or shoulder strap are available.

"TOSHIBA TEC has put its big printer technology into the smallest possible package," said Stuart Walker, Managing Director, Box Technologies. "Perfect for labelling on the shop floor, printing prescriptions on hospital wards, issuing tickets in the street or barcoding in the warehouse, the compact and stylish B-EP portable thermal printers are the ultimate in wireless functionality and reliability on the move. We're very excited to add the TOSHIBA TEC products to our growing range of hand-held devices because it allows us to provide more choice and flexibility to our customers."

"Box Technologies' unique approach to total system care, from equipment specification to service maintenance, makes it the perfect partner to maximise the benefits of our mobile printing solutions," said Paul Reynolds, Auto-ID Sales Manager, UK Operations, TOSHIBA TEC. "As one the UK's leading technology service solution providers, we know our latest portable printer series is in very good hands."
