UKSolutions (UKS), the privately owned data centre specialist, has unveiled a new hybrid cloud platform as a wholesale package for the UK Channel.  The solution can be divided and used in conjunction with individual and bespoke requirements. It is said to provide the security of the private cloud, while also incorporating the flexibility and cost saving 'pay as you go' model of the public cloud.

The hybrid cloud was created in collaboration with a number of UKS Channel partners, undergoing comprehensive testing before being approved and available to the industry from 15 June 2010. Daniel Lowe, Founder and Managing Director of UKSolutions, says cloud computing is emerging from its hype phase.  "The Cloud is maturing as the benefits of this style of IT infrastructure are becoming better understood by UK organisations.  However regardless of the explosive trends many experts are predicting, there are still some barriers to market that are impacting greater adoption such as security and compliance - our new hybrid cloud addresses these issues."

"The challenge was to create a blend of the benefits that private and public cloud platforms offer, as a result we developed with the help from our partners, a hybrid model that incorporates the private cloud security aspects with the flexibility and cost saving 'pay as you go' model of the public cloud."

UKS has a commitment to obtaining ISO 27001 certification and in terms of technology, it has a dedicated and highly qualified team that provide the VMware capabilities required to host any virtual server.

ISO 27001 is a set of specifications that offers organisations an independent certification of their information security management systems.  It is a framework of policies and procedures that include legal, physical and technical controls involved in an organisation's information risk management processes.  The framework provides a model for establishing, implementing, operating, monitoring, reviewing, maintaining and improving an information security management system.

Dan concluded: "We are confident that our ability to allow our partners to define their own performance and bandwidth ratios, along with our flexible pricing model will prove successful for everyone involved.  At the same time we're eliminating the sacrifices made in SLAs and audited security that are symptomatic of non hybrid, completely public clouds."
