AEB International, a software provider in the fields of dispatch, logistics and global trade, has established a partnership with Belgravium, a manufacturer of rugged mobile communications devices. This means that AEB can now offer its customers a complete radio communications solution, based on Belgravium's high quality terminals, to streamline fulfilment and distribution operations in warehouses and distribution centres.
For local area network (LAN) applications the combined radio frequency (RF) enabled warehouse management solution provided by AEB (International) Ltd and Belgravium Ltd will greatly improve customer satisfaction and profitability through enhanced accuracy and efficiency in the warehouse. ASSIST4 is AEB's comprehensive solution for all logistical processes in global trade. It can manage the entire warehouse process, from goods receipt to stock putaway, from picking and stock removal to packing, from complete shipping documentation to loading.
By standardizing and automating business processes in supply chain execution, logistical processes become more reliable and efficient. This in return helps companies to cut costs and remain competitive. Adding Belgravium Wi-Fi based data capture to the system provides for real-time system automation and thus provides the ultimate optimisation of the system.
Belgravium's rugged hand-held and truck-mounted RF terminals present warehouse operatives with real-time instructions, such as goods-in procedures, pick assignments, put-away instructions and replenishment duties, using AEB's supply chain execution software. When these activities are completed, the RF terminals immediately provide data back to the AEB system to support real-time inventory.
Mark Brannan, General Manager for AEB (International) Ltd, said: "RF-enabled warehouse management is an essential component for many of our customers as improved accuracy and productivity in the warehouse yield huge savings and increase profitability. AEB is committed to offering the very latest in functionality and technology to enable clients to gain real competitive advantage, and as a leading provider of high-quality RF hardware, Belgravium is a key partner for our business going forward.
In future, the partnership will also embrace 'wide area' supply chain applications.
Mark Brannan added: "Any modern supply chain management solution has to offer firms visibility and control beyond the individual warehouse and fixed location. It's important that companies are able to view all of their warehouses in a single system and to manage all logistical process outside of those warehouses. Again, Belgravium can provide the enabling radio technology to help facilitate wide-area data capture, in the form of GPRS enabled hardware."
Mike Turner, Group Marketing Manager for Belgravium, said: "Belgravium has a long-established track record of partnering with best-of-breed software vendors and we see AEB as a company that can provide robust and reliable supply chain solutions. Their track record is impeccable."
