Avnet Technology Solutions, solutions distributor and operating arm of Avnet, Inc., and Mellanox Technologies, supplier of end-to-end connectivity solutions for servers and storage systems, have announced a pan-European distribution agreement. As a part of this new relationship, Avnet will distribute Mellanoxs complete line of 40Gb/s InfiniBand and 10 Gigabit Ethernet adapter cards, 40Gb/s InfiniBand switches, InfiniBand to Ethernet or Fibre Channel gateway systems, copper and fiber cables and software to server and storage solutions integrators in Europe.
Avnet Technology Solutions global scale and scope will help Mellanox reach further into the European market and create opportunities for growth, said Marc Sultzbaugh, vice president of worldwide sales at Mellanox Technologies. Mellanoxs adapters and switch systems offer I/O infrastructure performance and scalability for data centers, Cloud, Web 2.0 and high-performance computing environments. By including Mellanoxs InfiniBand and Ethernet networking products in their server and storage solutions, Avnets channel partners can gain a competitive advantage in the markets they serve and help their customers increase performance and efficiency of their data centers.
