The Barcode Handy Terminal BHT-700 is already well-known in its Windows CE operating system edition. There is an additional option: the new BHT-700 with Windows Mobile 6.1.

With this device, we are now able to offer more options in terms of flexibility, mobility and security. Windows Mobile 6.1 improves applications for email, the internet and Microsoft Office. In addition, the new operating system improves efficiency and supports a centralised data management system.

Green light for new options

The first benefit you will notice is the colour. If you have been used to the blue Windows user interface, you are in for a surprise: when you turn on the BHT-700, the screen is green. But it is not just colour that makes Windows Mobile 6.1 an excellent alternative to the established Windows CE. Much more important is that it offers numerous options that make BHT-700 applications easier to use, as well as making the new device easier to configure. In the First Steps menu, you can quickly configure all the most important settings, and it is even possible to choose individual settings. All relevant programmes and functions can be quickly and easily retrieved using the new Windows Mobile 6.1 interface, and you can even use dynamic sorting: that is, applications that you frequently use can be prominently placed and thus made easier to find. Correspondingly, less-used applications automatically drop down the list.

Telephoning with the BHT-700
Windows Mobile 6.1 is also optimised to support Microsoft Office, making programmes like Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Word much easier to use on the BHT-700. The new device also supports email, SMS and instant messaging. If you use a headset, you will find that you can even use the BHT-700 as a phone.

More stable and lighter
Thanks to the Windows Mobile Device Management system, simultaneously running various applications is much more stable. Additionally, system performance of memory and CPU usage are visually displayed, and using the Internet Explorer Mobile application has also been optimised. Using the new BHT-700, you can now easily navigate websites, with the zoom function offering a choice of five different viewing sizes. Just like on a PC, the BHT-700 also gives the ability to create a homepage.

Flexibility through modularity
In keeping with the modular concept of the BHT-700, Windows Mobile 6.1 offers a high degree of flexibility and mobility. As a modular handheld terminal, the device features an open hardware and software platform and can thus be adapted to changing business needs. Thanks to these individual variations, as well as the choice of two optional operating systems, the BHT-700 series provides excellent security on investments.

Fast and safe with CCX
With its pistol grip and Windows CE operating system, the BHT-700 is certified to be compatible with CCX (Cisco Compatible Extension). This allows the device to connect wirelessly with RF network speeds and access additional security. The certified protocols are very well protected against unauthorised access.
