Seagull Scientifics BarTender label software has a wide range of features. However, with five different editions to choose from, it can take some time to determine which one is right for each customer. Is stand-alone functionality enough, or does the customer need advanced integration functions? What about security requirements and audit preparation? Will they be integrating with Oracle?
Seagulls new interactive on-line Edition Comparison Chart is a major development in the way users can choose BarTender. Now, instead of searching through a long list of features shared by all of the editions, users can optionally compare only the differences between specific editions. For example, if users are not sure whether their customer needs the Enterprise or our Enterprise Print Server edition, users can easily focus only on those features that are different between them. Additionally, it is easy to e-mail customers a link to a comparison chart customised just for them.
By default, the Edition Comparison Chart starts up with "Show all features" selected so that it works just the same as has for years. Now, however, users can uncheck any of the editions that they do not want to see information for, thereby making it easier to concentrate only on the ones that interest them the most. In addition, either of the following two options can be selected:
By default, the comparison chart shows all features from all editions.
Two new comparison modes let you perform customized comparisons between only those editions that interest you.
Hide features not offered by any of the selected editions. This is particularly useful when comparing the lower-end editions, since it displays only the features that the selected editions do have.
Only show the differences among the selected editions. This not only suppresses all features that are missing from the editions being compared, but it only shows those features that are actually different in some way among the selected editions.
