Let's face it, in these recessionary times, we need all the IT help we can get. And whilst good IT advice usually costs, organisations of all sizes can now get the advice they need free of charge, thanks to a revitalised education and seminar programme at Storage Expo 2009.

This key event in the IT calendar takes place at London Olympia on October 14/15 and thanks to a packed set of educational and informative sessions in the keynote theatre, the `It All Starts With Storage' theatre, and the `Don't Just Store It , Do More With It' theatre - attendees will have access to some of the best advice in the industry.

Natalie Booth, a spokesperson for the event organisers, says that this year's education and seminar program has been revitalised with educational sessions from Amazon and Google, as well as an up-the-minute virtualization showcase.

Other features at the event include cloud and information & content management zones, channel and launch areas, interactive workshops and several roundtable sessions.

"As limited bank lending constrains the recovery, all it takes is a day out of the office and any manager interested in enhancing their IT knowledge can learn how to do so expediently and cost-effectively," she said.

"And the even better news is that, unlike similar events, all of the exhibitions, including seminars and educational programmes, are free to attend. This will make even your CFO smile," she added.

The 2009 show, says Booth, is now in its ninth successful year and in addition to more than 100 exhibitors the education programme features over 60 experts on data storage and information management.

In keeping with the `enhancing value from your IT resource' theme, the event will have Andrew Reichman, a senior analyst with Forrester Research, discussing `Optimising Storage Through The Downturn: Delivering First Class Storage On A Third Class Ticket.'

Also on the podium at Storage Expo 2009 will be Tony Lock, Programme Director, Freeform Dynamics, who will be looking at the issue of `What To Look For When Buying Virtualization Solutions: A Top Five Questions 'Checklist' To Ask Your Vendors.'

Carla Arend, European Infrastructure Software Programme Manager with the IDC Group, will be dicussing the topic of `Future Directions: What Is On The Horizon That Will Shape Storage Strategies Tomorrow?'

A plethora of other analysts will be joined by senior managers from Amazon, Unilever and Google, to name a few, who will all be explaining their views on the current trends and solutions in the IT and Storage market,

Even better, plans call for a series of Q&A sessions to be hosted following each presentation.

"The Q&A sessions are the jewel in the crown for exhibition attendees. As well as getting some of the best advice from key industry figures, you'll also have the chance to quiz them on your own specific circumstances. And all for free," said Booth.

"If that doesn't warrant a day of your time out of the office, just ask your CFO how much this type of impartial IT advice can cost your organisation. Then register for the free event at www.storage-expo.com," she added.
