Set up an online presence in a reseller capacity

ePages, Europes leading provider of e-commerce solutions for hosting providers and SMEs, has launched ePages meShop a new e-commerce solution based on ePages 6, aimed at anyone who is looking to set up an online presence in a reseller capacity. ePages meShop enables any type of business to enhance their affiliate programme and create more opportunities for sales, by creating an e-commerce platform from which future resellers can build their own online shop.

Among the first customers for ePages meShop is Europes largest home shopping company, Quelle. In May 2009, Quelle offered companies the opportunity to sell its products and services online through QStores www.qstores.de. The project was a huge success with more than 1,000 QStores opened in the first ten days.

With ePages meShop, anyone wishing to become a reseller can quickly establish an online store, without any programming experience or having to worry about hardware, installation, upgrades or maintenance. That is the core of ePages meShop: resellers simply register, select one of many templates, and customise the shop to their preferences. The technological heart of ePages meShop is the catalogue browser that presents a defined range of products from the company offered goods. In the case of Quelle, the catalogue browser comprises more than 400,000 products. The reseller simply selects the relevant products, integrates them via drag and drop and can immediately start to sell online. Prices and availability of products are automatically updated through the catalogue browser.

Offering a broad range of add-on applications, ePages meShop can be used by a variety of businesses and individuals all wishing to establish an online retail outlet for any type of product within the supplier catalogue, which is suitably demonstrated by Quelle. The home shopping company targets not only conventional buyers and existing customers but also operators of special interest websites and communities who want to earn some extra money from commission and enable their users to shop on their site.

The ePages meShop concept can be tailored to the individual company objectives, from basic store features like e-marketing to social marketing features including customer recommendation and widgets, up to a complete business website with blogs, guest books and forums.

Wilfried Beeck, CEO of ePages, says, We are very pleased that Quelle adopted ePages e-commerce technology for its QStores and thereby utilises the full potential of our meShop platform for their affiliate shops. Its been a great proof of concept for us. The approach is expandable to a wide range of businesses who want to e-commerce enable their partner channels, such as wholesalers.

ePages meShop is based on ePages 6, the latest version of ePages software that operates via cloud computing and opens up online opportunities for every retailer irrespective of size, location or product range. With over 300 industry templates, new Web 2.0 functionality and an appointment, rental and booking management function, ePages 6 widens the scope of e-commerce to every business.
