Handheld has launched the new Kenaz GPS receiver designed specifically for the TDS Nomad and Recon handheld computers.

The new Kenaz GPS receiver offers sub-meter accuracy for high precision mapping applications. It attaches directly to the top of the handheld to preserve the Nomads and Recons MIL-STD-810F and IP67 ratings.

Kenaz features 12-channel parallel tracking (10-channel when tracking SBAS) and is able to maintain accuracy even during temporary loss of differential signal. The full integration, robust design, low power consumption and rapid position computation all increase the functionality of the Nomad and Recon handheld computers.

The Kenaz combined with the TDS Nomad or Recon will provide a very powerful tool for mobile workers who need the highest degree of GPS accuracy says Thomas Lfblad, Managing Director of Handheld Europe.

The Kenaz GPS receiver will be first shown at the EUC EMEA 2008 in London 28-29 October 2008 (The QEII Conference Centre, Hall 2 stand 45), and will be available for first customer ship November 2008.
