BETT 2009 technology in education event

BETT has proven itself to be a leading technology in education event over the past 25 years and 2009 is set to be a fine celebration of this milestone.

Continuing to showcase innovative and revolutionary technology, BETT 2009 runs from 14 17 January and enables teachers, leaders, local authorities and decision makers to enhance their knowledge and gain insight into the latest advances in technology.

Every year tens of thousands of visitors pack into London Olympia during the four day event, to view over 700 exhibitors from across the UK and around the world, or to participate in one of the many outstanding seminars.  BETT 2009 is sure to attract just as much interest; with a broad range of exciting new products, resources and seminars suitable for all subject areas, it is truly an invaluable resource for anyone in education.

Keith Clifford, marketing manager for Emap Connect, comments: BETT, like the education sector, is constantly evolving and transforming. Ultimately, BETT aims to support creative teaching and learning by enabling practitioners to touch and test resources, debate ideas and continue their professional development.

A visit to BETT isnt complete without dropping by the innovative feature areas, which enable visitors to understand the practical application of current changes affecting education whilst looking to the future of ICT. 2009 sees the enhanced Learning Elsewhere and New Technologies areas. The first, supported by Prof. Stephen Heppell, will focus on mobile, remote and distance learning, and the second will bring together innovative and inspiring resources, with views from both student and teacher on how these can be implemented in the classroom.

Keith Clifford continues: Every year, the seminar programme is one of the highlights of BETT, and 2009 is no exception. There is something for everyone, from inspiring best practice tips through to policy advice, and delegates can also earn valuable Continuous Professional Development credits.

The 2009 seminar programme includes over 100 practitioner-led sessions showing the best in innovative and creative teaching practice, keynote speakers, government agency based seminars plus SEN focussed topics. These can be pre-booked and demonstrate the practical application of specific educational tools, software and new learning devices.

Key Government agencies are available to answer questions from visitors in the Policy in Practice area, whilst specialised information zones offer workshops, demonstrations, and advice.

BETT 2009 takes place 14 17 January at London Olympia.  It is free to attend and registration will be live from the beginning of September at www.bettshow.com.
