5th International Trade Fair and Knowledge Forum for Automatic Identification - EURO ID 2009
Next year, the International Trade Fair for Automatic Identification EURO ID 2009 will open its gates for the fifth time. From 5-7 May 2009, the only cross-industry auto ID tradeshow in Cologne will once again provide a platform for the auto ID market. Some of the featured topics of the international trade fair are networked solutions, worldwide mobile data collection, the integration of operating systems with hardware (printers, mobile scanners, etc.), components for the "Internet of things", tracking and tracing as well as new applications such as Near Field Communication (NFC) and related technologies such as sensor systems, for example.
EURO ID 2009 will present interesting markets and new technologies for the health care sector, the pharmaceutical industry, medical technology, consumer goods and the automotive industries, among other industry sectors, because these are particularly prone to experiencing extreme pressure to economise as well as a great need for anti-counterfeiting. This year the trade fair was able to excite approximately 3,000 professional visitors and 108 exhibitors. Above all, the exhibitors praised the practical relevance, good contacts, numerous new products and presence of many large companies at the fair. The project manager at the trade fair organiser IBC EUROFORUM GmbH (Informa Group), Peter Altes, is pleased that approximately 50 per cent of the exhibition floor space (2,000 m) has already been sold or booked.
