Advanced Capabilities for Security and Encryption of Data Provides More Security Options, PCI DSS Compatibility, a Consistent Platform, and a Unique Framework for Protecting Future Application and Installation Requirements

ONeil Product Development (DOV:NYSE), manufacturer of The Most Reliable Portable Printers, today announced that its entire line of portable printers equipped with 802.11 wireless communications now offer WPA2 enhanced security and encryption protocols that meet the broadest and most stringent slate of application and installation requirements. ONeils microFlash, OC and LP3 portable printer families are equipped with the enhanced protocols, as well as an in-house development approach which future proofs wireless security and encryption advancements for their customers.

The higher level of security and encryption protocols allows ONeils portable printers to comply with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), which is relevant for any customer that takes credit card data as part of a transaction. As compliance requirements change over time, ONeil printers can be easily modified to meet the changing requirements. ONeils 802.11-equipped printers are compatible with state-of-the-art security protocols, including WPA and WPA2, and WPA and WPA2 authentication protocols including EAP-FAST, EAP-PEAP and EAP-TTLS.

It is extremely important for us to ensure that our printers protect credit card transaction-related data with the highest levels of security and encryption to prevent any opportunities for security breaches, said Paul Lehmann, director of product management for ONeil. We offer the industrys leading security protocols to meet todays requirements, but our security development methodology uniquely protects for future requirements as well.

Unlike many other mobile printer manufacturers, ONeil does not rely on a third party to develop its wireless security solutions. ONeil creates and owns the code and is well-resourced to immediately respond to important developing or new authentication and encryption standards. ONeils security development methodology offers a state-of-the-art security solution that is easy-to-understand and that uniquely provides a consistent security platform across ONeils complete 802.11 wireless product line.

Users who are thinking about new network hardware to increase the security of their wireless network today have to plan for the protocols that will be in place nine to 18 months from now, Lehmann concluded. ONeil has dedicated its resources to make sure that hardware is compliant to future needs.
