Promethean, a global leader in interactive learning solutions, has released a new version of its flagship Activboard+2 the all-in-one interactive whiteboard solution to its UK reseller partners.
Developed in response to user feedback, the new Activboard+2 builds on the original ergonomic design and offers enhanced multimedia functionality.
Key to the new Activboard+2 is a revolutionary counterbalance frame. Improving usability, this allows the teacher to easily adjust the height by holding the Activboard with just one hand. It can also be purchased retrospectively as an upgrade to most wall mounted Activboard systems that are already installed, compatibility should be confirmed with Promethean prior to ordering. For security, the height adjustable frame comes with a key lockable brake that will secure it at maximum height if left unattended.
The original Activboard+2 was very well received in the market, however it is time to make some enhancements, says Paul Dean, director of partner management at Promethean. After speaking to our customers, we re-developed the product with a number of changes so it is robust and easier to use. For our resellers it also gives them the opportunity to go back to customers with a fresh offering for their existing board, which they might not be ready to upgrade to a whole new system.
From a multimedia perspective, there is now an integrated Promethean connectivity box and volume control for the audio system, making it easy to integrate external devices such as PCs and DVD players into lessons.
The new design, which is aimed at all levels of the education sector, replaces the original solution launched in June 2006, which was the first fully integrated solution on the market.
