DocuWare 5.1 meets the stringent requirements of the United States of America Department of Defense (DoD) -- the Integrated Document Management has successfully been certified. This makes DocuWare the first European standard software for document management that is proven to fulfill DoD guidelines.

Federal, State and Local governmental agencies and any other organization are strictly regulated, particularly when it comes to the management and security of documents. As a result, the DoDs Standard 5015 has become a type of road map really the de-facto standard for compliance issues. DoD certification lets governmental institutions know that a software program when implemented and used accordingly meets all requirements.

Standard DoD Conformity

As part of an official audit at the DocuWare United States Headquarters, Newburgh, New York, DocuWare 5.1 along with modules AUTOINDEX, ACTIVE IMPORT and CONTENT-FOLDER completed the strict tests of the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC). The DMS implementation, which occurred from September 11 through September 20, 2007, was verified using version 7.5 of the test procedures and was compliant with DoD 5015.2-STD, dated June 2002. Important to note: DocuWare 5.1 as a standard software does not require any special components or additional programming to comply with the strict regulations of the US Department of Defense.

The Department of Defense (DoD) 5015-2-STD, Design Criteria Standard for Electronic Records Management Software Applications conforms with the requirements of the Federal

Records Act and the implementing records management regulations found in 36 Code of Federal Regulations, 1220-1238.  The set of standards defines the basic performance requirements that must be met by commercial records and document management applications, before they can be acquired by DoD and its component agencies.

The DoD certification process is one of the toughest standards worldwide. DocuWare mastered all of the challenges again showing that expensive, industry-specific, custom solutions for Records Management are not even needed for public administration, according to DocuWare Limited Director Stefan Schindler. We are particularly proud of the fact that our solution is the first European standard software solution for document management that has proven it meets the guidelines of the US Department of Defense.
