Citizen introduces the CT-S310 printer for POS applications

With the launch of the new CT-S310, Citizen Systems Europe, a leading manufacturer of high-quality POS, label and barcode printers, has introduced the successor to its established CT-S300 receipt printer.

Thanks to a new motherboard that features DMA technology (Direct Memory Access), the new printer prints graphics and text at speeds of 150 mm per second, 50% faster than the previous model.

As is usual with printers from Citizen, the CT-S310 also follows the multiple interface approach unique to the POS marketplace meaning customers can select between a parallel and a serial version.  USB is always included as a standard feature. This turns the printer into a very safe investment in the future, because it is likely that USB will also become the standard for POS applications in the future. When this happens, Citizen customers have no reason to be concerned about compatibility; they can simply use the existing interface and avoid incurring additional costs.

As usual, the CT-S310 also features an internal power supply. This means the printer requires less space and does away with cable spaghetti. Of course, the power supply unit can be removed to turn the printer into the worlds smallest printer of its kind. Be-cause of how it is built, it can be installed horizontally, vertically or on a wall.

When it comes to paper, the new printer is also extremely flexible. It can print on paper widths of 58 or 80 mm in black, of course and also in two colours with suitable media.

The CT-S310 is particularly well-suited for all POS applications in retail and hospitality and mainly targeting price-conscious customers who still insist on the high quality and reliability of a brand product. Thanks to the unique customization software Citizen offers that allows for printer settings to be modified or logos to be uploaded, as well as support for common standards, it can be easily integrated into a wide range of applications.
