CipherLab, a leading manufacturer of Automated Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) hardware, has appointed BancTec, one of the UK's largest distributors of mobile data capture devices, as a new distribution partner.

CipherLabs range of handheld data capture terminals will be added to BancTecs portfolio of Auto ID solutions currently available through its nationwide channel of resellers.  The Berkshire-based companys Auto ID division provides mobile data capture devices and software applications for resellers operating in the retail, manufacturing and warehousing sectors.

Among the products to be added will be the new Windows CE and Pocket PC-based rugged 9500 mobile computer with its UHF, HF and LF RFID capabilities, large colour display and Bluetooth, 802.11b and GSM/GPRS wireless networking capacity.  Loaded with the multi-platform MCL Rapid Development Tool and an Intel XScale processor, the features and functionality of the 9500 make it the ideal product for BancTec to use as a platform onto which to add its software programs including RFeasyServ.

RFeasyServ allows developers to create powerful RF client-server applications by managing the data flow between the mobile units and the host application via a standard WiFi Connection. Designed for the quick and easy creation of RF client-server applications, the software allows for the co-existence of mixed terminals on the same network.

Altaf Sadique, Managing Director of CipherLab UK comments: This partnership marks a huge milestone in our development.  BancTecs range of Auto ID data management software applications for the reseller community and the end user has an excellent reputation. Partnering with the company enables CipherLab to reach BancTecs customer base in our key industries from retail to logistics and I am delighted to embark on this mutually beneficial partnership.

Mark Worrall, Customer Services Director at BancTec believes that the strategic partnership is an excellent move. He comments: "Our new partnership with CipherLab provides an exceptional opportunity to work with a market leader and extends the availability of robust mobility devices and proven application solutions to our UK customer base.  BancTec will be able to provide the CipherLab range of handheld data capture terminals coupled with our software development capability. This will enable us to add significant value to the Cipherlab products by providing a variety of Auto ID solutions that reduce operational costs and streamline business processes for our clients.
