High integrity permanent laser marking for engineers and manufacturers by new Euromark Division

A new division of Euromark Coding and Marking, Vespalase, has been established to distribute laser marking equipment.

The new range of printers provides engineering, automotive and aerospace component manufacturers and distributors with fast, permanent, coding and marking. Low lifetime cost, high reliability and maximum uptime are achieved. There are no consumables, no routine maintenance and components have an extended service life.

The process is especially suited to high-integrity technical and defence applications where permanent traceability marks are a key element of quality assurance compliance.  Once coded, the mark cannot be removed without leaving evidence.  Other industrial processes where abrasion of the surface may remove a printed mark will also benefit.

Vespalase machines can be programmed to meet a diverse range of marking tasks.  Conventional and 2D matrix barcodes present no problems.  With an extensive library of alphanumeric symbols, multiple language capability and simple interface with graphics software, the machines can produce text, logos and other marks.

The system is friendly to the environment. There are no fumes from volatile inks and solvents and no possibility of contamination of the workplace by ink overspray. Power consumption varies from 10 to 100 Watts with water cooling available for high power machines on heavy duty applications. Where substrates give off fumes when marked, Vespalase can supply efficient localised fume extraction.

Set up is simple, either from the local control station or remotely via a network.  Control software is easy to use being icon driven through a graphical user interface.   Each machine has multi-tasking capability and can be programmed to accomplish a variety of marking tasks.  Custom marking operations can be entered on the local control panel.

All programming, revisions and operations can be logged for security, QA and traceability.  The machines have a comprehensive range of connectivity options including USB, RS232 and LAN/Ethernet.

The Vespalase machines are designed for reliability and intensive use. Models embrace both CO2 and Fiber technology and can mark at a rate of 1600 characters per second.  Tubes in the CO2 laser have a projected 30,000 hour working life rising to 100,000 hours for the Fiber model.  With only a single phase connection machines are easy and inexpensive to install and relocate.
