Unitech has announced a new trade in campaign designed to generate increased uptake of its latest HT660 mobile computer.

With cash back and an extended warranty period for end users, the Trade In Trade up scheme applies to both the batch and WiFi versions of the increasingly popular HT660.

Packed with features, the rugged IP54 rated HT660 is the perfect choice for scan intensive applications particularly in the warehouse and in retail environments.  Unlike most of its competitors, the HT660 comes with a comprehensive range of onboard software as standard including MCL rapid application development tools, auto installer, WiFi site survey tool, back up utility, server management and a scanner utility to set up scanning functionality.  This enables quick and easy set up and use straight out of the box.

The HT660 is small and perfectly balanced making it equally suitable for a variety of real time data capture applications in the manufacturing, retail, transport and logistics sectors.  Weighing only 330 grams, its size also makes it ideal for applications requiring single handed operation.  The optional gun grip ensures ease of use in scan intensive environments.

The campaign is designed to increase sales revenues for channel partners, whilst maintaining partner margins; non-Unitech partners can also sign up to the campaign by filling in their details on the website.  End users can receive an extended warranty period from 1 to two years on each new HT660 device they take, and up to 50 cash back for each device they trade in from the list of products that includes both its own legacy products plus products from other manufacturers such as Motorola (formerly Symbol), Intermec, Datalogic and Psion Teklogix.   With Unitech handling all the administration and managing the device trade in devices, all distributors and resellers have to do is make sure their customers are aware of the campaign.  To help with this the company has produced a range of flexible online marketing materials that are available to its channel partners to encourage the channel to push out the promotion.

To participate in the campaign, end users simply register their trade in devices in a dedicated area on the Unitech web site.  After providing the requested details, a trade in code will be issued for returning the units directly to Unitech Europe. Once the trade in device has been received by Unitech, the company will make a cash-back payment of up to 50 direct to the end user and the additional warranty period of 1 year will be added, so there is no administrative burden placed on the partner.

This channel only campaign from Unitech is the latest in a range of marketing activities designed to increase end users pull and to support Unitechs Partners.

The Cash Back Trade In campaign is running for 3 months from the end of April 2007, and is being supported by a pan-European advertising and e-marketing campaign.  For details on products accepted for trade in, visit www.unitech-europe.com/tradein.html.
