Vocollect, a leader in Voice-Directed Work, has announced the appointment of Anton du Preez as business development manager UK, Ireland and South Africa for Vocollect EMEA.

Anton has been brought on board to help Vocollect enter new and grow existing markets, and to help Vocollect's network of certified resellers and supply chain performance experts build successful voice businesses supporting Vocollect's growing global customer base. He will report to Tim Wheeler, regional manager for Northern Europe, and will be based in Vocollect's European headquarters in Buckinghamshire, England.

"Anton's impressive track record of achievement coupled with his in depth understanding of both technology and business issues mean that he will be a great asset to our team," said Tim Wheeler.  "He will play a key role in the strategic development of the company, continuing to enhance our capabilities as we build upon the excellent growth that Vocollect has experienced since we established our EMEA operations."

Anton began his career in South Africa as a software engineer and progressed into technical management and corporate strategy. Focusing primarily on the wireless mobile application and supply chain markets, he grew and managed a successful software development department at RangeGate Mobile Solutions, leading to his appointment to the Board.

He expanded the business internationally in 2000 by successfully establishing and heading a UK office of more than 25 full time staff, including product research and development, sales, project implementation, maintenance and support. Under his direction, the business successfully delivered commercialised software implementations to blue-chip customers such as Sainsburys, Scottish & Newcastle and Orange.

''There is a tremendous market opportunity for Vocollect Voice and I am truly excited to be joining Vocollect,'' said Anton du Preez. "I'm looking forward to helping the company achieve its ambitious growth objectives, in particular helping to drive further industry expansion as we extend Vocollect's leadership into new vertical markets.''
