Seagull Scientific has announced the arrival of Russell Clark as its Global Director of Sales.

Mr. Clark started on December 19th, filling a vacancy that had been open since the summer of 2006.

Mr. Clark spent his most formative business years at IBM, rising through the sales ranks from 1981 until he left in 1996.  Before settling into sales management, Mr. Clark held a variety of sales positions, including some with significant technical responsibilities.  "I've been fortunate to personally sell or manage the sales of a wide range of technology solutions into almost every industry segment you can imagine.  This included accounting and inventory systems for small fish processors all the way to global solutions for Fortune 500 companies.  Most importantly, one of the many things they teach you at IBM is how to manage growth.  I intend to rely on that expertise to bring Seagull to its next level of success."

After his 15 successful years at IBM, Mr. Clark launched a nine-year career at Hitachi Data Systems in the Seattle area.  He began as a senior account executive, but before too long he was managing the organizations 60-person Northwest sales operation with more than $50,000,000 in revenue.

The hiring process never goes as fast as I would like, but I was pleased to see some truly outstanding candidates among the more than 350 resumes that we reviewed, said Jeremy Seigel, owner and CEO.  The fact is, whether its in response to an employee departure or just good old-fashioned business growth, few things are more vital to continued success than the right senior managers.  I just couldnt be happier about our final choice.

Mr. Clark will be responsible for sales world-wide, including sales operations in the Americas and supervision of the Asia and Europe branch business managers.  "I am truly excited to join the team at Seagull Scientific, said Mr. Clark.  I look forward to meeting our global business partners as we continue the expansion of our BarTender label software brand."
