LIEBERT TVSS FROM EMERSON NETWORK POWER PROTECTS PCs FROM LIGHTNING AND POWER SURGES

Modern electronic devices, such as PCs, are increasingly subject to risk related to damage from lighting and power surges. Their protection - essential to ensure adequate business continuity for companies - is now guaranteed by Liebert TVSS, the new solution by Emerson Network Power that suppresses dangerous pulses and power surges.

Historically, electrical power supplies have been subject to unexpected voltage surges caused by inductive loads and lightning. Today, this phenomenon is particularly relevant, as many daily activities, both personal and professional, are carried out on equipment that extensively relies on microelectronics.

Power supply problems have the potential to adversely affect sophisticated equipment and software, with serious consequences, such as the loss of data or even the destruction of components.

To safeguard the integrity of PCs, Emerson Network Power has developed Liebert TVSS (Transient Voltage Surge Suppression), a solution that stops voltage surges and cuts them off within the system, where they are discharged to the ground, avoiding the risk of power pulses to the loads. This simple and effective solution completes the global protection already provided by the Emerson Network Power UPS systems.

Liebert TVSS can be connected to UPS, distribution panels or equipment power inputs, offering a range of solutions designed ad hoc for all levels of exposure:

• DRS and PowerSure Panel Low Exposure, designed for low exposure levels, provide protection against power surges up to 20kA and 25 to 100kA respectively.
• Islatrol Elite is a device for protection against disturbance generated inside industrial devices, such as PLCs, motion control systems etc.
• AccuVar, designed for medium exposure levels, protects all electronic systems ensuring strong protection against overvoltage and annoying transient disturbance generated on the power line, from 65kA to 160 kA.
• IslaGuard High Exposure (IH), ideal for high exposure levels with protection against currents up to 400 kA, is designed for operating inputs or applications with distribution panels starting from 800 A and beyond.
