Canon UK, leader in digital imaging technology, today announced the appointment of Adam Poole to the role of Head of Channel Marketing.
In his new role, Poole will be responsible for implementing strategic plans to develop Canons channel and customer offering to the industry. Pooles objective in 2006 and beyond is to continue Canons growth within the reseller community for both the office and professional print markets whilst driving marketing activity in Canons direct sales and Corporate channel.
Working directly with Canons three routes to market the Canon Partner channel, Canon Business Centres (CBCs) and Corporate & International, Poole will manage a 9 strong channel marketing team, based at Canon UKs headquarters in Surrey.
Poole worked for a number of resellers in different roles before joining Canon in March 1998 as a Direct Channel Marketing Executive. Since then he has held the role of Marketing Communications Manager, responsible for all Canon Business Solutions communications and PR activity, and more recently the position of Head of Professional Marketing, overseeing Canons significant success and development in this market.
David Smith, Marketing Director, Canon Business Solutions, said, Adam has been a great asset to Canon over the past 8 years and he is the ideal man for the strategic development of our channel marketing proposition. Canons success is dependent on strength in all sales channels and Adam will be working closely with all routes to market to ensure best working practices and communication. Further to Adams success in developing Canons professional print offering, we are confident in his ability to head up this crucial part of our business.
Poole will work closely alongside Glen Mason, as Head of Office Marketing and Ben Milford, who has recently been appointed to the same position for Canons professional products and solutions. Much of Pooles time will be spent talking to customers and partners to assess current and future needs. He will also liaise closely with Channel Heads within Canon to ensure business targets are met.
Commenting on his new appointment, Poole said, This is a great opportunity for me and I am delighted to take on this role. I will be looking to bring together all channel marketing operations and jointly communicate our strength in office and professional print to all markets. My knowledge from time spent heading up professional marketing combined with my understanding of office solutions and the reseller community ensures that I have the right level of knowledge to support all these areas.
