Datalogic Appoints Mercom to Provide New Warranty & Repair Services

Datalogic has appointed leading IT hardware maintenance company Mercom as an Accredited Repair Centre. 

Established in 1982 and operating from a modern facility of over 20,000 sq ft, Mercom is at the forefront of IT hardware maintenance.  Mercom currently repairs over 1,000 items per day and supports many of the major IT hardware manufacturers and retailers.

The appointment was made to allow Datalogic to offer an even more competitive and responsive repair service to its partners and their end user customers. 

Mercom is accredited to repair the full range of Datalogic barcode scanners, mobile and vehicle mounted computers and handheld terminals and will hold a comprehensive stock of spare parts to support this product range.  Mercom will provide Datalogic with the ability to offer a number of new services including fixed price repair, extended warranty, hot swap advanced exchange and an enhanced warranty, with either a two day or five day turnaround from receipt of product.

Datalogic hopes these new services will provide a value add to its partners and a differentiator from its competitors, many of whom suffer with very long turnaround times on repairs.  It should also make it easier for total cost of ownership calculations to be made helping Datalogic partners to win more business.
