Promethean AV adds magic touch to interactive whiteboards with Activwand

Promethean AV Distribution is giving channel partners the opportunity to add value to their interactive whiteboard sales with the launch of Activwand, an innovative tool which increases user reach and reduces onscreen shadowing.

At 21 inches long, Activwand enables any user to reach across the board with ease. The increased distance between presenter and board vastly improves audience view by reducing shadows. Used as a pointing device, Activwand also helps to enhance session delivery by allowing presenters to focus group attention to key presentation areas.

Activwand delivers extensive mouse functionality, as well as precise touch capability and unique roll over and hover features. Battery and wire-free, Activwand is an easy to hold tool which can be used to control any software and multimedia package at a Promethean whiteboard.

Steve Dracup, managing director of Promethean (AV Distribution) comments: Activwand has been developed as a result of feedback from interactive whiteboard users. Shadows on screen are common when using interactive whiteboards, but by allowing users to stand further from the board, Activwand offers a simple and affordable solution.

The product innovation means Promethean interactive whiteboard customers can switch seamlessly between using the traditional pen and Activwand, offering increased presentation flexibility.

Dracup continues: Activwand will allow channel partners to add value to their interactive whiteboard sales by providing end users with greater freedom as to how they choose to use the board.

Distributing through a nationwide network of accredited resellers, Prometheans portfolio includes the Presenta and Activ range of interactive presentation and training products. To complement this range, Promethean also provides digital projectors and LCD monitors from market leaders Sharp and Sanyo, the Samsung range of digital presenters, and the Projecta range of projection screens.
