Datacard Group Supports RoHS Compliance

Datacard Group today confirmed its support of the European Union's Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive, which limits the use of environmentally harmful substances in electronic and electric equipment.

Many of the company's existing offerings, as well as all newly developed products, are or will be RoHS compliant by the July 1, 2006, deadline.

"We've made a significant investment and have an ongoing commitment to providing high quality systems used for the central and instant issuance of cards and passports that comply with all relevant standards."

Datacard Group products that are already RoHS compliant include the company's best-selling Datacard SP Series card printers and its dynamic Datacard TruT Photo solution. The company will soon comply with several of its high volume systems including the newly released Datacard MX6000T card issuance system and Datacard PB6500T passport issuance system as well as the industry leading Datacard MaxsysT card issuance and Datacard MXDT card delivery systems.
