Blackboard Hits New Milestone With More Than 1,000 Enterprise Learning System Licenses.

Blackboard Inc., a leading provider of software and services to the education industry, announced today that it has reached a new milestone with more than 1,000 licenses of the enterprise edition of the Blackboard Learning System.

The Blackboard Learning System is a software application for delivering education online and has powerful capabilities for managing courses and tailoring instruction to enhance student outcomes. It is at the core of the Blackboard Academic Suite(TM), a suite of three independent yet integrated software products, which enable members of academic institutions to learn, connect and share educational resources online.

The enterprise edition of the Blackboard Learning System seamlessly integrates with many other technology tools used by academic institutions, such as student information systems and administrative solutions. Many of the clients who recently licensed the enterprise edition of the Blackboard Learning System have upgraded from the Basic Edition.  According to Barbara Newland, Senior Lecturer Educational Development at Bournemouth University.  "Moving to the enterprise edition will enable the university to implement its e-learning strategy which aims to enhance the student experience. It provides a flexible, easy-to-use solution with a range of tools and functionality to support the variety of learning and teaching approaches across the different disciplines.
