Westbrook Technologies Announces Fortis and File Magic Version 2.3

Westbrook Technologies, a leader in enterprise document management software for the mid-market and one of Deloitte and Touches 2005 Fast 50 technology companies in Connecticut, today announced the availability of Fortis and File Magic Version 2.3. The new release delivers on customer requests and includes added functionality and features such as versioning, auto numbering (bates stamping) and new connectors that enable users to more efficiently capture, track and manage paper-based information.

Highlights include:

Versioning: Fortis users now have the flexibility to check out or take a document out of the Fortis database to work on and still leave a copy in place for others to view. When a user has a document checked out no one else can make changes to the document until it is checked in.
Auto Numbering (Bates Stamping): The auto numbering feature lets users assign a numbering schema to any black and white and color documents and index to a Fortis or File Magic database so that you can uniquely identify documents and pages. Additionally, users can select to include auto number stamps on documents you export, e-mail, fax or print.
Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and Image Enhancement Scan Options: When Full Page OCR-ing a document, users can now opt to place OCR results at the end of the document as individual pages. Fortis and File Magic Connectors for eCopy ShareScan OP now provide the ability to capture and save documents from eCopy ShareScan OP directly to Fortis and File Magic. The Connector makes it easy for any user to scan documents directly from a network-attached copier to Westbrooks document management software, enabling users to quickly capture, track and manage paper-based information.
Fortis Audit Trail Enhancement: The Fortis Audit Trail option can be set up to track various user activities within the database, including checking in/out, deleting, launching or printing documents, among other database-related activities.
New Certifications and Toolkits providing greater performance and versatility such as improved color image page processing, image enhancement processing, OCR, black and white image page processing and full text indexing and search capabilities.

Westbrook has met the markets demand for more robust productivity enhancements and raised the level of performance with the most significant Fortis and File Magic release to date, said Marshall Pimenta, Westbrook Technologies Chief Technology Officer.
