Leading independent pet food manufacturer, Butcher's Pet Care Ltd, is automating its processes for dealing with supplier invoices by replacing its stand-alone imaging system with an integrated, enterprise-wide document imaging solution from Version One.

This solution, which is tightly integrated into the Company's IFS financial software, is both streamlining and speeding-up the processing of supplier invoices, providing Butcher's with a distinct advantage in a highly competitive marketplace.

Butcher's, which supplies a range of Premium Pet Food including Butcher's dog food, Olli dry cat food and Classic cat food to major supermarkets and wholesalers, is using Version One's solutions to automatically scan-in all incoming supplier invoices. Images of these invoices are captured, automatically stored in an electronic archive, automatically indexed and linked to the IFS system, enabling quick and easy retrieval directly from IFS as well as from a web browser.  Electronic invoices from the now redundant standalone system will also be uploaded to the Version One system, ensuring a seamless transition.

Jeff Martins, Financial Controller from Butcher's comments, "With its tight integration with IFS, ease of use and advanced functionality, Version One's imaging solution is head-and-shoulders above all the other systems we investigated. We can now resolve all invoice queries directly from our core IFS system as users can drill-down from the ledger directly to an image of an invoice."

"As well as this, staff outside the finance team such as the planning and purchase departments, can now access invoice images through their web browser aiding the quick resolution of invoice queries. With the old imaging solution, if anyone outside the finance department wanted to view an invoice, it had to be printed out and posted, which was a slow and frustrating process!"

Tony Bray, Director of Version One adds, "I am thrilled that Butcher's has realised the numerous benefits of implementing tightly integrated imaging solutions from Version One, which include savings of time and money with a swift return-on-investment. With more and more IFS users looking to Version One to fulfil their document management and imaging requirements, we look forward to enabling them to derive greater benefit from their IFS systems."
