SmoothWall, the network security specialist, today announced that it signed up more than 40 new resellers in the first two months following the launch of its new partner programme in August 2005.

Resellers that have signed up to the programme in the UK include A1 IT Solutions in Eastbourne, ICT Networks of Stoke-on-Trent and Computer Systems UK in Bishops Stortford. SmoothWall is also seeing strong demand out side the UK, particularly from the USA, Australia and Asia.

SmoothWall is targeting 150 new resellers by the end of 2006 to double its existing base. The companys Partner Programme, which comprises of Bronze, Silver and Gold tiers, is designed to suit individual security consultants through to enterprise value added resellers. Each partner level carries defined sales targets, discounts and training requirements for technical and sales staff. SmoothWall has also introduced a base partner for individual consultants that do not meet the criteria for bronze partner but want to receive technical and sales support.

Although firewall and VPN sales grew 4% in the second quarter of 2005*, customers are becoming increasingly cost conscious. SmoothWall enables resellers to maximise their sales growth by adding our fully featured yet cost effective network security products to their portfolio, said George Lungley, Managing Director, SmoothWall. Being a software solution, resellers have no inventory costs and they can provide their customers with as many evaluation systems as needed.

SmoothWall offers a suite of platform agnostic firewall, web content filtering and VPN solutions allowing resellers to use SmoothWall as the entry for a sale, whether targeting the needs of SME, education or enterprise users. By supplying their own hardware and co-branding the solution, resellers provide their customers with a unique solution identified with their company, providing an ongoing management, support and maintenance annuity revenue stream.

The SmoothWall Partner Programme is administered via the PartnerNet extranet website and a team of channel managers acting as a dedicated management resource for all partners. PartnerNet makes it particularly easy to do business with SmoothWall, providing resellers with customer and licence key management facilities, software downloads as well as marketing and technical information.
