Datalogic Finalist in the 2005 World Mail Awards

Datalogic, the leading European manufacturer and one of the largest in the world, of bar code readers, mobile computers and RFID systems, was amongst the top three finalists of the Technology section of the 6th World Mail Awards, the most prestigious award worldwide in the postal sector.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


The World Mail Awards were launched in 2000 to encourage and publicise best practices, and each year acknowledge the finest applications within the mail industry worldwide. Awards are open to any postal operator or service provider and are divided into nine categories that cover important issues within the industry. This includes the Technology Award that recognises the use of innovative technological solutions to bring competitive advantage to operators in the mail industry.

The 2005 World Mail Awards were presented during a Gala Dinner held on 11th May in Brussels, Belgium, attended by the industrys top management worldwide. Datalogic was amongst the guests, and was bestowed with a certificate for having been selected as one of the top three finalists in the technology award category.

This prestigious awards is evidence of Datalogics leadership in technological solutions for the mail industry and acknowledges the RFID solution by Datalogic/EMS, which is already implemented in a number of postal applications worldwide, as generating a clear market advantage.

Datalogic participated in the awards with the successful RFID mail tracking service to the Italian Post Office, where sacks containing priority post are tracked by RFID technology and ensure that deliveries occur within the established 24 (or 48) hours.
