WysDM Software Builds Channel partner programme to Meet Increased Worldwide Demand for Data Protection Management Solutions

WysDM Software, Inc., a leading provider of innovative data protection management (DPM) solutions has launched the WysDM Channel Partner Programme; which will provide resellers and integrators, across the globe, with the industry's most comprehensive DPM software available. Inaugural partners include resellers Cambridge Computer, n3k, Posetiv, STORMATRIX and TriSys. The launch of this programme follows the recent announcement that EMC is repackaging the 'WysDM for Backups' solution as part of EMC's wide range of information management and protection offerings.

Data Protection Management: a Vital New Technology
According to analyst company Taneja Group, concerns about the poor visibility, poor controls, and unknown recovery capabilities for critical data have reached a boiling point in the enterprise. A new technology category that Taneja Group calls "Data Protection Management" (DPM) has emerged to address serious issues surrounding backup, recovery and compliance. Operating across the infrastructure, DPM software gives IT administrators control over how they backup data, execute recovery, create policies and integrate data protection with business processes.

Deployed with traditional backup software applications, DPM solutions collect data from backup software, applications, networks and server resources, and then coordinate, monitor and control backup methodologies. This approach allows DPM to link data protection with applications and networks, coordinate compliance, security, and other business processes with backup and recovery.

WysDM's Comprehensive DPM Solution
WysDM for Backups combines fine-grained backup reporting data with business rules including service level agreements (SLAs), internal and external regulatory requirements, and chargeback policies. WysDM offers IT administrators a broad range of reports and predictive analysis that enable them to efficiently manage their backup environment and dramatically reduce risk exposure.

The WysDM data protection intelligence platform obtains data from all major components of the backup environment and provides a comprehensive view of all aspects of backup operations; from service level agreement compliance to per-device performance. WysDM optimises DPM process intelligence by coupling data protection processes with cross-domain, predictive and adaptive operations. This provides end-users with a holistic view of the entire data protection environment, providing the most comprehensive insight into past, present and future data protection reliability, performance and compliance.

"The name of the game is execution, and we're continuing to establish ourselves as a dominant force to deliver the industry's most extensive data protection management system out there," said Alan Atkinson, president and CEO of WysDM. "Our solid partnerships and dedication to quality and customer satisfaction underscore our commitment to architecting the most valued set of backup reporting and analysis solutions, and helping our customers avert costly backup and compliance issues."

Partners Speak Out
"A handful of innovative vendors have emerged over the last year to address the gaps in traditional backup systems," said Jacob Farmer, CTO of Cambridge Computer, a national integrator specialising in data storage and data protection solutions. "WysDM is one of these innovators and we are proud to offer WysDM's DPM technology to our customers."

Posetiv is a leading storage services and solutions integrator, working with best-of-breed vendors to provide customers with business-focused solutions to manage, store and protect their digital assets. "DPM is one of the most important new technologies to come along in the backup and recovery market. We are delighted to offer WysDM for Backups to our portfolio of customers looking for solutions that go well beyond backup reporting," said Conrad Martin, sales director of Posetiv.

"WysDM will add great value and capability to our existing core management products."

Founded in January 1991, TriSys has grown to become one of the UK's most respected vendor independent providers of total data management solutions. TriSys has successfully integrated data management, protection, storage and availability solutions into many blue chip companies throughout the UK. "WysDM works seamlessly with traditional backup applications to provide excellent reporting and analysis tools to optimise backup targets and divert potential problems in the future," said Richard Morris, technical director of TriSys.

STORMATRIX, Inc., a New York City-based technology firm, is a premier provider of customised data protection and storage management solutions. "It is no secret that traditional backup solutions have long been missing the necessary reporting and business analytics to help IT manage backups and match results to SLAs and compliance regulations," said Kris Jensen, vice president of professional services of STORMATRIX. "WysDM changes all that, and we are very pleased to have WysDM as our valued partner."
