Storage Networking World (SNW) Europe 2005, the most successful edition of the SNIA Europe-sponsored event to date, has closed its doors and become the biggest pan-European conference dedicated to the networked storage market. With over 1200 delegates, 49 organisations showcasing their solutions, well-known industry speakers and end user presentations, the events organisers exceeded their targets for the conference and brought all the major industry players and customers together under one roof.
This year, the Angel Business Communications organising team exceeded all the targets we gave them for attendance levels, programme breadth and most importantly feedback, said Paul Talbut, SNIA Europes Chairman. European organisations can now attend a single event to learn about the latest product developments, get independent advice on technologies, architectures and policies and ultimately implement this knowledge across their infrastructures.
One of the highlights, the Solutions @ Work demos, let end users experience real-world examples of a series of heterogeneous business continuity, tiered storage, data protection and storage management solutions smoothly working together, while the iSCSI hands-on-lab provided them with the opportunity to learn more about this technology through one-on-one discussion and hands-on training experience.
This was my first time at SNW Europe and I found it extremely informative and worth my time, said Mathias Tyroller, IT Management System Administration at DaimlerChrysler Bank. The Solutions @ Work area was particularly interesting for me because it gave me the opportunity to seek technical advice in an independent environment.
SNW Europe 2005 was a highly successful event, said Hamish Macarthur, CEO and founder of analyst house Macarthur Stroud International and one of the speakers at the conference. The conference was a great opportunity for all attendees to get an update on managing a storage environment that encompasses aspects such as ILM and security and to see how these fit within the full range of storage networking technologies.
Present at SNW Europe 2005 were the following sponsors:
- Platinum: ADIC, Cisco, Diligent, EMC, HDS, hp, IBM, McDATA, NetApp, Quantum, StorageTek, Symantec
- Gold: AppIQ, Brocade, CA, Dot Hill, Engenio, Fujitsu Siemens, Sun, Syncsort
