Epson has designs on Fenn Wright Manson

Contemporary fashion brand Fenn Wright Manson has invested in a new, powerful retail management solution - featuring Epson's Intelligent Register and Genesis 2000 software from Esperus Systems. Chosen to provide first class service at the point of sale, the EPoS solution also efficiently manages and monitors stock across its comprehensive retail and wholesale network.

Founded in 1974, Fenn Wright Manson trades via 56 concessions in department stores such as Selfridges, House of Fraser, Fenwicks and John Lewis, and also retails through its own standalone stores. With a number of garment lines and a colour/size matrix to contend with, the EPoS solution enables Fenn Wright Manson to ensure that all its outlets are stocked with the latest collections, allowing the company to plan replenishments, fulfil orders and perform branch transfers.

The system facilitates both Fenn Wright Manson's retail and wholesale business, as Cecil Hollwey, production director explains: "Product lines are entered onto the system as soon as they are received by our warehouse. From here, they are automatically allocated to the retail outlets at the touch of a button. The solution streamlines our wholesale process with goods being picked, despatched and invoiced using information which the system provides." In addition, Esperus has specially linked its software to Sun Accounts which helps to improve Fenn Wright Manson's financial reporting functions.

Using Epson's fully-integrated Intelligent Register - with intuitive touchscreen and built-in fast, thermal receipt printer - within its standalone stores, the chain is seeking to extend the roll-out to its larger concessions. Regarding the point of sale system, Hollwey observed: "Reliability was a key factor when choosing EPoS hardware. I'm pleased to say that it's more than lived up to our expectations and made a dramatic difference to the business."
