29 - 30 August 2005 -- Mobitex conference to showcase real-world, mission-critical communications applications

The focus of this year's Mobitex Association Business and Networking Conference is on mission critical data communications, with in-depth presentations involving real case studies.

Members of the Mobitex Association will meet at its annual International Business and Networking Conference in New York City, USA, from the 29th to 30th August 2005. The conference will discuss the expanding application of this high reliability, narrow band, wireless data technology to mission critical communications.

A variety of in-depth case studies and new technology will be presented by Members during the event, the agenda for which highlights real-world applications of this robust wireless data system in applications as diverse as federal & local government communications and machine-to-machine data transfer (M2M communications).

In addition to the case studies, there is a session dedicated to new-business enablers, looking forward across the whole range of Mobitex technology, from semiconductor components, to infrastructure equipment, software and services. Here, UK based CML Microcircuits is scheduled to discuss the impact of the company's forthcoming 'Super-chip' on the industry, and Velocita Wireless will describe a new e-mail solution for small-mid sized business markets.

M2M is predicted to be the fastest-growing segment of the wireless datacoms market. To demonstrate its potential in live situations, Parkeon will describe wireless pay & display solutions; Comstar will present on wireless credit card applications, TNSI will outline a cashless beverage vending solution. There is also a presentation on BodyKom, the Bluetex hardware platform for remote care and security, given jointly by WSI and Kiwok. Sensorlogic is scheduled to present on a new middleware technology for facilitating the wholesale M2M business model.

Presentations within the Federal and Local Government sectors include: real-time passenger and traffic information systems (Technisyst), military vehicle management by Networkcar, and the benefits of wireless handhelds for the New York City Police Department (Datamaxx).

These case studies are drawn from the global base of Mobitex vendors and users.

The annual Mobitex Association Business and Networking Conference provides Mobitex network operators, software developers, hardware manufacturers and customers the opportunity to discuss face-to-face, the exciting new developments in both hardware and software technology for the Mobitex market.
