Kodak and Imaging Business Machines Sign Pan-European High-Volume Scanner Roll-Out Plan

Following eighteen months of talks Kodak Document Imaging has signed a benchmark, Europe-wide, reseller agreement with Imaging Business Machines (IBML) to market the Alabama-based companys high-volume image capture solution suites.


As the ink dried on the contract a Kodak spokesman described the ground-breaking deal as, One of the most significant and progressive steps in the high-volume scanning marketplace in recent years and a serious bonus for European customers.

Imaging Business Machines, the worlds leader in the provision of very high volume and difficult to capture document solutions, with a particular strength in applications needing document sorting capability, has been seeking a Pan-European marketing partner for some time to assist both current resellers and future customers in the marketing of its solutions.


Lois Lebegue, Regional Business General Manager of Kodaks Document Products and Services business in Europe, Africa & Middle East & Vice President Graphics Communications Group said: We are delighted to be appointed by IBML to resell their HV scanning solution suite. Kodak has been looking to strengthen its long-term position as the market leader in the high-volume production scanning market place and this new agreement underpins that plan and strategic ambition.


He added: Customers across a wide variety of business disciplines, including government, banking, insurance, finance, healthcare, and the growing band of outsource providers could be real winners through this new partnership agreement.


We have been carefully monitoring opportunities in the high-volume scanning market, particularly in the area of electronic mailroom applications, where customers increasingly require sort capability.  This new agreement has enabled us to significantly increase the breadth and scope of our high-volume portfolio thus enabling us to improve our value proposition. Now Kodak Document Imaging can provide a broad spectrum of scanning solutions from a cost base of a few hundred euros up to solutions which could be into seven figures. And our customers in the high-volume scanning world now have access to a unique One-Stop -Shop facility, from the very small to the very large Kodak has the answer.
