The New Black Version of the Heron Instinctive CCD Reader from Datalogic

The Heron hand held bar code reader is Datalogics most innovative solution for point of sale applications, and is now available in the colour black to keep in line with latest colour trends of cash registers and PCs for POS environments.

Datalogic has specifically designed the Heron CCD reader for data capture operations at a counter in point of sale environments. It is based on the concept of instinctive reading: standard linear codes and RSS can be read at a distance of near contact up to 20cm, at a rate of 256 scans per second.

The Heron features Datalogics patented green spot for good-read feedback and a stand for hands-free operations. When the reader is placed in the stand, it automatically switches to hands-free mode, and the green spot remains on to help users position the code to be read under the reader. In addition, to respond to the various applications needs in the retail market, the Heron can be connected to the widest range of cash registers by a variety of interfaces.

All-in-all this bar code reader has been specially studied to reduce operator fatigue and simplify daily activities at a counter by producing a product that is lightweight, easy to handle and ergonomically shaped. Now as a result of a choice of colour between the new black model and the grey-tone combination, the Heron can be perfectly integrated in any shop check-out.
