Datacard Group, the world leader in secure ID and card personalization solutions, today introduced a new version of its Datacard ID Works visitor manager software at the ISC West Conference and Exposition. New features include pre-registration, the ability to update card templates online, automatic card detection and passport scanner support.
Security-minded enterprises demand fast, secure and efficient processes for enrolling visitors to their facilities and issuing plastic or paper ID badges, said Mike Schnaus, vice president of marketing and corporate development for Datacard Group. ID Works visitor manager software v4.2 streamlines the registration process by giving organizations the option of pre-registering guests and having their ID badges ready when they arrive, he said.
The software also includes online access to the newest card templates, enabling issuers to immediately download them as they become available, at no additional cost.
Tracking visitor activity is crucial for any visitor ID program, said Schnaus. ID Works visitor manager enhances this ability by enabling users to set valid date and time ranges for each visitor. If a visitor arrives outside that set time, the system alerts the receptionist, he said.
When visitors present government-issued identification cards at the time of arrival, ID Works visitor manager software v4.2 automatically recognizes the card type and populates the enrollment form by scanning key data contained on the card. The software also scans passport documents to capture information and expedite ID card issuance.
